Planetary Policy and Impact Delivery Centre

We work collaboratively to develop strategic design and operational implementation at the regional and local levels.

Think Tank and Applied Research

Today's world is hyper-connected, yet paradoxically, people often find themselves isolated. This scenario increases the diversity of information and can impact more people. On the other hand, it creates disconnections and challenges when working together, leaving gaps in addressing urgent challenges.

Analogously, there is a complex policy cycle interaction with diverse intergovernmental processes and stakeholders that predominantly work in silos – which we refer to as the “islands of knowledge” – in which organisations are doing their work but are isolated.

This disconnection inhibits collaboration and leads to the reinvention of the wheel, wasting valuable resources (time and money) due to unnecessary trial and error in the pursuit of success.

COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE SOLUTION

T.R.I.P is our exclusive methodology that connects experts and organisations to promote knowledge-sharing and the development of essential skills necessary for efficient work towards global collaboration.

TRIP - Strategic Perspective_edited.png

In today's interconnected world, efficient collaboration and knowledge-sharing are crucial for organizations aiming to succeed in a rapidly changing environment.

Through the T.R.I.P methodology, organizations can unlock their full potential, adapt to the challenges of the modern world, and foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.

What is T.R.I.P?

TRIP is the acronym for Transversality, Reuse of Knowledge, Innovation and Productivity. The method contributes to the success of knowledge-sharing and collaboration efforts while establishing common goals and driving positive outcomes.

Transversality

Transversality represents the ability to solve interdisciplinary problems through knowledge sharing and collaboration among experts. It fosters a culture of inclusivity, where individuals from different backgrounds and areas of expertise come together to address organisational challenges.

Reuse of Knowledge

Reuse occurs when the competence (know-how) is recorded, shared and reapplied later -- known as the knowledge cycle. Therefore, Reuse ensures that valuable expertise is not lost. This leads to increased efficiency, as individuals can build upon existing knowledge rather than reinvent the wheel.

Innovation (practical)

Practical Innovation focuses on feasible ideas that add value to the organisation while addressing real organisations' needs. Unlike disruptive innovation, which often involves lengthy and costly projects, it aims to improve processes, services, or products, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Productivity

Productivity is the ability to achieve maximum work output with the minimum necessary resources (time and money) while maintaining the desired level of quality. In the T.R.I.P's context, productivity is not solely focused on efficiency and considers employees' well-being.

Ocean Economy

The ocean economy has a massive scope and complexity. According to the OECD, it is related to all economic activities of ocean-based industries.

The sustainable pathways identify the scientific data, tools, and knowledge that could be utilized at local, regional, and global scales to ensure that human activities are sustainable, inclusive, and adapted to local needs.

Environment and Climate

Applied research on environmental and climate aspects to convert international policy into practical regional and local implementations, emphasizing actionable outcomes and collaboration.

Aligned with the United Nations Environment Programme, we aim to tackle the Triple Planetary Crisis: climate change; biodiversity loss; and chemicals and pollution.

Civic and Social Engagement

The 17 SDGs are extremely relevant for peace and prosperity. However, despite being practical and diverse, they do not encompass more subtle aspects of human relationships.

Therefore, we created SDG +1: Living Together, which aims to strengthen a new collective scenario committed to human development.
